Guest Lada Posted May 9, 2003 Report Posted May 9, 2003 Hi guys, I have just got new htc tanager from eurotel smartphone and I have been trying to unlock the sim card the whole day, but retrieving SPV Unlock Code : 66 %- Invalid code - Aborting the whole time. It has bootloader 1.06.04. So, I guess downgrading the bootloader to the version of 0.93 could help. But is there any other way to get it unlocked? And if not, could anyone please give me the link to the step by step instruction on downgrading the bootloader. Can it be done without sd card reader? thanks

Guest Gorskar Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 To sim unlock your phone make sure you run the program on a win2000 or winxp computer. failing that you could downgrade the bootloader, as you suggested. You can get a copy of the old bootloaders (use version 0.93 - its the latest version that doesnt lock the phone down) here You will need to use usbterm to change the bootloader. Instructions can probably be found in the articles forum of this board.

Guest lutzh Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 hi lada (do you have one???) yes, it was spvunlock and it worked perfect. i usually go to checkpoint waidhaus and then eating in tachov or so- whatever i think is good. i really do that on a short trip base, need an hour or so from where i live. btw: did you really get a tanager from eurotel? give us some details about it since there was much confusion about java and bluetooth... cheers, lutz

I have also tried usbterm to downgrade the bootloader, but I could not get the usbterm working. It stops with a blank screen every time I run it. Could you give me any advice about that? Thanks
Guest Lada Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Yes, I have got an Eurotel smartphone. I think, it is pretty much same as the smart amazing phone from philippines. Only difference might be in accessories, because it has 32 MMC loaded with some demos. So, it does not have java nor bluetooth. Those are just misleading informations written by someone who was not really sure what he was writing about.

It seems to me, that is not only my problem, because I do not know of anyone here in Czech, who would got the phone successfully unlocked using the programs mention above. Please, someone correct me, if I am wrong.
