Guest martin Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 Page 2 settings should work OK as these have been used by others. I take it you have the top centre G showing when the phone is switched on? If not, call the network provider and have GPRS activated.
Guest smart-data Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 anyone kind enough to post a step by step guide for us newbies ? Please? :)
Guest martin Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 anyone kind enough to post a step by step guide for us newbies ? Please? There's not much to it really. Using the Vodaphone settings on Repository page2 : Goto Settings-Data Connections and then Menu-edit Connections. Click on Proxy Connections and Menu-add, enter proxy details and done (if another proxy exists with Connects to WAP Network, change it or delete it) Click on GPRS Connections and Menu-add, enter GPRS details. Create two GPRS connections (Voda web GPRS and Voda WAP GPRS). Click Dial Up and create Voda WAP CSD. (handy if GPRS goes down) In data connections Internet Connection: Voda web GPRS WAP connection: Voda WAP GPRS IE explorer tick 'auto detect settings' Let us know if it works for you. :)

Guest smart-data Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 nope didnt work for me either.. :) its certainly not easy to set up.. help anyone?
Guest martin Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 nope didnt work for me either.. Try connecting to both of these. http://wap.o2.co.uk wsp://wap.o2.co.uk Note: In data connections - Internet connection is for HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) and is set to APN internet. HTTP accesses both HTML and WML pages WAP connection is for WSP (Wireless Session Protocol)and is set to APN wap.vodaphone.co.uk. WSP accesses WML pages only. It is possible that you don't have the APN internet which can be considered as web browsing. If you can connect to WML pages using WSP:// then chase Vodaphone for web browsing service. Unless you can't connect to either site... I take your on a contract SIM ?
