Guest terminater2_uk Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Took my phone out of my pocket( in the heavy duty case) to answer a call and saw this: phone still works, receives incomming and outgoing calls and texts.Switched off and on numerous times to no avail. No sign of damage to screen. Any ideas?
Guest jim80b Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 what happens when you change homescreens. the pics blurred so cant even see if you have softkeys!!! you might have to try a hard reset or a warrenty claim
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 Looks like you have bust the disply :) Having the phone in the case will not protect it from pressure applied to it when it gets knocked etc, only from scratches or the occasional drop.
Guest terminater2_uk Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 Haven't applied any pressure that i'm aware of, although it does look like thats whats happened. Phoned orange at 1.30 this morning and they are sending a replacement at 6pm tonight. Now thats what i call service!!!! Cant say i'm looking forward to getting an out of the box state phone and having to do it all again :) its gonna take me hours.
Guest terminater2_uk Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 Good point!!! Memory card was getting pretty full anyway.
Guest terminater2_uk Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 New phone delivered at 3pm woohoo!!!! Rom version 1.3.5.6 Won't let me sim unlock through the old swap sim with charger in trick and can't use the unlock program cos i'm on win 98
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 The old Sim swap metod has been obsolete since the first update :) Best bet is to find someone with XP of failing that ebuyer.com has XP home OEM version inc service pack 1 for only £67.83 better than buying the retail boxed version for £160+
