When you say you are not able to send a message, can you actualy create a message?

There was a similar glitch with decerting after the original UK update, and the only fix

was to hard reset again. How many times have you tried a hard reset? because if it's only once

you should definately try again, if you have just ignore this post :)

Good luck

When new entries are written to the registry, the registry itself is written to the IPSM where it is edited. If there is not enough space in your IPSM to write your entire registry it will fail and windows will see it as corrupted on its next reboot, and therefore rewrite it from scratch (this info is courtesy of Chris b.a.r.f., check with him for specifics/made up bits in that explanation :)). This may be the cause of your hard reset.

As awarner points out your message problem is usually due to failed de-cert efforts using the "old" method. I was always under the impression it was due to a mis-edited provxml files, however it now seems its due to a corruption in the registry (and therefore recoverable, maybe?)

Just did a search and every related post does say hard reset :)

when you hard reset have you tried to send an SMS before decerting?

One more thing are you decerting using the Over the Air method?

this may be a more controlled way of decerting, as the problem seems

to appear after decerting for some people.

Hmm, sounds like a serious case of registry corruption, as mono says. what is this "rocket elite" thing? Not a title I recall seeing before....anyway, point here is that a reinstall of the update should solve _any_ software-related problem with regard to your SPV. The whole ROM gets overwritten in the process of doing the update, so nothing should remain whatsoever.

One question, agent.m; after you do a hard reset are you installing this rocket elite immediately, of does your SPV not allow you to write SMS by default? Obviously, this app is causing some problems with the registry - mono's explanation why this happens was perfectly accurate.

Anyway, back to the point - remove rocket elite, also from ActiveSync's add/remove list, then try another hard reset. Under no circumstances should you install _anything_ after the phone has rebooted, neither should you attempt to send an SMS. With the phone in it's out-of-box state, reboot again as the registry will be checked once more, then try to compose an SMS. If you still can't, redownload the latest update and try to reinstall it.

If none of the above works, maybe our resident Registry bod, midnight, might have some ideas.
