I am a total newbie to all of this. I installed 2 games onto my phone. I copied the .exe file to my smartcard and another file to the start menu and it worked fine

I have other .exe games but no other file for the start menu.

Can someone explain how to install these please??

Thanks

I'm not quite sure what you are doing with the first files you installed?

You had an exe file and another file? Never heard of that before :?

If the game is just a .exe file then you can place it on the storage card then

copy and paste a shortcut to IPSMWindowsStart MenuGames

Oerwise the games should either install via the PC or on the phone

as a .cab file

Please could you post what games you have already installed plus the games you want to install

so we can understand a bit better what exactly you have done.

Cheers

Just a guess, but the 'other file' is probably just a predefined shortcut supplied with the exe file - not sure where they are from though.

I'd be surprised if it was, how would the developer know where you were

going to install the game?

@awarner

I just thought it might be games like invasion, from some fan site, where the site owner has put instructions to make installation simple -e.g. put .exe file onto top level of your storage card, and then place this file (shortcut) in ipsm/application data/start (or whatever), so you stop people having to create shortcuts (I know it's not very difficult, but I guess it could phase some people).

I'm probably wrong but I just remember seeing some downloads like this somewhere.

That'd be the only explanation I can think of why you would need to copy one file to the storage card and one to the start menu.

@Dodgyfeas

If I'm right, then what I think you need to do is create a shortcut for the exe file you are trying to run, and place it in the start menu like the others and it should run - if you need any more help then please give us some more details.

I'll bet 10 dollars that this is what's up!

I downloaded Invasion/WaterMan from a site yesterday, where you downloaded the exe file and the short up in two different downloads (or you COULD do it that way *hehe*)

Now if only I could remember the link...

Just seems a bit daft :? the time it takes and the ease of making your own shortcut

just does not make sense. If you find the link can you post it? it would be interesting to

see it.

It would surely confuse newbies more than it would help...

And I found the link.. what do you know, it's good ol' coolsmartphone *hehe*!

I was trying to install Doom into the memory card but when I tried to run it it came up with a .cab error.

I will try again tonight when I get home and post exactly what I did.

Thanks for all your help so far guys
