Hi,

Is it just me, or does gprs die late at night? Whenever I try to connect to a site it just says 'Dialling', with the G symbol instead of the Antenna icon lit up. Also, my hourly email syncs say "Cannot place call."

This problems seems to alleviate itself in the mornings, closer to 9am'ish. Does orange turn gprs off at night or something?

thanks

Not as far as i know. I used to auto-backup OTA to Orange Backup at 3am every night with no problems...(i charge through the cradle at night now so its used passthrough for the past few weeks)

Infact my GPRS usually slows down during the afternoon and seems to "fly" @ night and early morning !

I also have the same problem as you atai. If I try and use the GPRS after about 1 or 2am I just get the dialling thing followed by the unable to place call (if I wait for it). No matter how many times I try it, it just won't work. I have tried switching the phone off and everything. Most of the time the G on the home screen is there but a few times that disappears too.

My phone checks my email every few hours at night and when I get up it'll have the "Error unable to place call" thing on it. But if I manually check my email then it'll work fine. This is usually after 8am.

So it would seem there is some late night GPRS problem, it doesn't happen everynight but around 3-5 nights a week. But it shouldn't happen at all really.

I would 10-15 mins then turn radio off/on and see if it returns.

Just spoken to Orange about other problems and was told that transmitter maintenance

normally happens at 11 pm so that could be one reason :?

If you call Orange they can tell you if your local transmitter is flagged for maintenance.
