Guest pete1312 Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Forgive me if I'm missing something, but when amending one's Personal Profile, especially the "signature" bit, an option is offered as to whether one wishes to update all previous posts, rather than future ones only. I opted for future ones (i.e. I did NOT tick the box to include previous ones). Nevertheless, I note that all my previous posts DO show my updated profile! Whilst I am not personally bothered about this, it can obviously lead to confusion, in as much as it would possibly have helped any "newbies" to at least understand the reasons/gist of most of my "older" posts, i.e. I was then dependent upon Win ME etc, etc at the time of posting. Same obviously applies to anyone else's posts. For sake of clarity, I have now upgraded one of my two PC's from Win ME to XP Pro, have (eventually) De-Certified, and (eventually) got the USB Modem working of sorts. (I only NEED this Modem to use my SPV to dial up my ISP on my Laptop whilst abroad - I have ADSL at home/office on my Desktop). Most posts on Modem problems seem to be directed solely towards GRPS solutions, which are personally of no interest. Whilst I now feel confident enough myself to differentiate between ME/XP etc "Advisors", and hence accept or reject advice given on this site in the best of faith, it can often help to understand initially what OS the advisor is referring to. In other words, now that I've updated my Profile, most of what I have previosly posted will not make too much sense! (Not to me anyway) :? Just a comment.
