Guest benzo Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 How many of you think that the SDIO slot was designed the wrong way round. The groove on the side where you are supposed to pull out the SDIO card serves no purpose as you have to dig your nail at the top to reach for the SDIO groove to pull it out. Surely logic dictates that the groove on the SDIO card should face down, in-line with the phone's SDIO groove, making it easy to remove the card. I think that it what they were planning, but made a mistake either in design or production. Benzo
Guest superkingdave Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 dont think you are meant to pull it out mate... if you press it in it will spring out
Guest spacemonkey Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Pull it out????? I think you may be risking damaging your card slot. When the card is in the slot and you want to remove it what you want to do is push it in further till you hear a click. Then when you release it it pops out of it's own accord. For this purpose the indentation seem right to me.
Guest Speedy Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 i guess you are right. However does not matter much since the sd cards pops out by themselves, if you know what i mean. Could see the problem though with a device attached.
Guest benzo Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 I hear no click when I push the card in further. Looks like I may have a faulty SDIO card port. Oh well. Benzo
Guest Richie M Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Or you've broke it pulling out the card
Guest spacemonkey Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 sounds like it. When I put it in, I push it till it clicks and then it springs back about 1 mm from there and sits flush the side of the phone. To get it out I push again, in 1mm till it clicks and it pops out to a position extend 6mm or so out from the phone where you can easily remove it.
Guest benzo Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 No it works, but I had to push about 3mm to get the click-eject event to work. It doesn't help when you have sausage fingers. Benzo
Guest midnight Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 the recess is there so that you can press the card in even if you have short finger nails, so, it is actually in the correct place
