Guest d80tb7 Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 apologies if this has been answered before. For obscure reasons I cannot have GPRS (my company pays my line 1 and they won't sanction GPRS, however unreasonable that sounds) so I want to connect to the internet over CSD. I have the following settings for my dial up connection as found under settings> data connection. connects to: The internet Country code: 44 Dialing code: 7973 Phone number 100500 User name: Orange Password: Multimedia However when I try to connect to the internet (by either my favourites or by typing in a url by hand) Internet explorer says 'Dialling...' for about a minute before coming back with a message saying 'the page cannot be found'. I haven't applied the UK update yet and I haven't either decertified or desimlocked my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Guest morpheus Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 :) The quickest way for you to do this would be to call 156 and ask for the settings to be sent to the phone (have the SPV with you when you call) Only drawback is that it will cost a bomb ! Unlike GPRS which only costs when you download, with CSD the cost is while you are online, 10p per min  Morpheus
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 d80tb7, Here are the settings for Dial Up Connections: Orange CSD WAP Network/Internet CSD/WAP CSD Connects to: The Internet(default)/WAP Network(if using fix for Automatic Pass Thru Internet) Country Code: 44 Area Code: 7973 Phone Number: 100500 User Name: Orange Password: Multimedia The most likely problem if these settings are correct is that Internet Connection is not set to the WAP CSD connection in the first page of the Data Connections menu in Settings. In these settings, don't forget to check the "Connects to :" box, which people often overlook. Tell us if this helps.
