Guest frillyknickers Posted December 6, 2002 Report Posted December 6, 2002 [Edited by Site Admin, thanks for the submission frillyknickers!] SYMPTOM: In general it takes me two attempts to turn my SPV on, sometimes it can take 3, and on occasions 4! BUT once my SPV is powered on, I can bring up the powerbutton menu, eazy peazy, first time, every time. RESOLUTION: None known.
Guest elementalist Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Is this thing pressure sensitive (!) coz I was having that problem, now I always make sure to press hard and it comes on first time every time, but, like you say, it doesn't take much to make the power-button-menu-thing come up...
Guest softice Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 I'm having the same problem - not every time I try to switch the SPV on, but from time to time. I tried to press "hard" and / or "soft" - but this does not solve the issue. It's maybe not a bug but it is troublesome.
Guest kevlar Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 I started a post on the newsgroup about this, I think this affects everyones spv. I haven't heard anyone say they don't have this problem anyway. Kevlar
Guest jcinfo Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 sort baterie ,reput baterie ,and press power. the spv is on qhith juste one press. Hardware bug !!! :x
Guest kevlar Posted December 22, 2002 Report Posted December 22, 2002 as the above post says, I think, This bug seems to be down to battery power. Try this, plug your charger in, then turn it on, comes on everytime for me this way. I'm guessing the processor needs a good boost of power to get going, and struggles to get this from the battery. Not sure if this will ever be fixed, but maybe when ( if ) they release a better battery, the problem may go away. Kevlar
Guest Wlodek Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I find I just have to hold the ON key for some 10 seconds. Could be just an annoying way of avoiding accidental switching it on ... (he says full of trust for the wisdom of Microsoft) ... W.
Guest DH30 Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I have the same problem and thought it was just me with a dodgy handset.
Guest DancingMatt Posted January 8, 2003 Report Posted January 8, 2003 My 1st SPV had some bugs, but Not This bug! It always switched on first time. However I returned it because I had that freezing up when screensaving and keypad locked bug, and the one that I've got now Does need the power button pressed a few times. So from my limited experience, it's not every single phone.
Guest Tyrant_worm Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 It is every SPV which suffers from this. Kevlar is basically right as to cause, you may have all noticed how flakey the SPV gets on low battery. Doesn't really cause an issue though, just something to be aware of :)
Guest Michael Eyres Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 I agree it's usually only a problem when my batery is getting low... :?
Guest Wlodek Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 I agree it's usually only a problem when my batery is getting low... :? .. and on the same note: it does not happen to me when the battery is being charged, which just confirms it. Oh, well. :?) W.
