Guest James Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 Well I have only played the first 3 holes..... I would not of paid more than that for it..... Its quite slow and take a while to do little things in the game. Have not found out how to control the ball yet! Don’t think you can do it!!! Putting is very different to other golf games I have played on. The install comes in 4 parts and includes ScoreCast for the PC so you can log your scores on the net.

I will not be buying it, or any other such games, without being able to try a demo first. Warbirds is a game I quite like the look off but we are still waiting for a demo to become available weeks after the full version is available to buy. The Rocket Elite demo is a good example. I find it very difficult to play and would not be buying the full version if it was priced at 20 bucks. Hope I'm not drifting off topic too much but if we all refuse to buy such games before trying them it may force the creators to always give us a demo version to try first. davy.

The only problem is you can't download it without a Hexacto account & you can't get an account without buying something. At least..... That's how it seems. When it goes up on Handango, the demo should be easily available for download. I think I'll wait for that. You can check the spec by clicking http://www.hexacto.com/game_links_smart.php. Points of note: I don't know if you checked the spec but it needs 6.5mb memory to play the game. That's why it's probably a little slow. It looks like from the site that 4 courses are available. It appears one comes with the game. The other three have (expansion pack) written next to them. It also says you'll be able to download extra players as expansion packs. This game maybe more than $20 I haven't purchased the game yet and I think I'll wait at least until I see the Demo on Handango. I may see what others think on here & how much these (expansion packs) will cost as well.
Guest Gorskar Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 Note: there is a couple of seconds wait while it renders every new scene so if you don't think you can put up with this be warned - this time increases when you select the dynamic option, as it also has to work out the scene as the ball comes in for a landing, but I love seeing that so I've kept it on. Not an instant action game, but still wipes the floor with most other smartphone games. As far as I can tell there is only the one course and player to choose from in the retail version, and you can buy $4.95 expansion packs which each add another player and another course. I wrote a review on smartgamer a while back if you want to hear more of my thoughts, although I havnt tried the final version yet.

Guest James Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 just for the record you can create more players manualy, but they look all the same using the same 'skin' so to speak. finished another 18 holes last night...... still can get the putting right!! arrrr! where can i find out how hard to hit the ball!!
