pteale - I think you've missed the point

I think the point of the internet as a free and open forum isn't that you can do what you like anywhere you like.

The point is, if you don't like what's said on this forum and their "restrictive" rules, then there is NOTHING stopping you from going and opening your own forum and putting anything you like in it.

It's that simple. Freedom of speech in the real world, for instance. If I run a paper, I can edit it and print what I like, whatever you think. But you can say whatever you like or start up your own competing newspaper.
