Can't get pass through connection to work

I've changed the internet connection to use the pass through option, but all I ever seem to get when trying to access the interent whilst docked is 'page not available' :-( However, Orange Update seemed to run though OK (even though no updates were found)... Any ideas about how I might get it working?
