Guest grifter Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Hi fellow Addicts, I have a question: I'm having a bit of a problem... i can't seem to turn off the call forwarding to voicemail feature for no answer and unreachable calls. i've already tried to deactivate is using a nokia phone (using cancel all diverts) but when i check the status, it still says "active". I also tried unchecking the checkbox in the SAPs call forwarding section in settings->telephony->call forwarding and when i tried calling my number without me answering it, it still diverts to voicemail. :) I've already talked to a Smart CSR and she said this is a "default" setting for all Addict Mobile accounts and the only way that I can turn it off is by requesting them via fax to disable my voicemail. Sheesh! I don't want to disable my voicemail, I only want the option to disable forwarding to voicemail via phone settings. do you guys experience the same problem?
Guest vctor Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 i think configured tong mga tanagers na released ng smart na hindi makapag disable ng forwarding feature...
Guest ppcsurfr Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 It's your account. Mine seems to be able to do whatever I want it to do. Well, at least last time I tried. I know this was an issue only for pre-paid subscribers... postpaid subs should be able to control it without any problems... Mabuhay ~ Carlo (ppcsurfr) President
Guest jabez Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 This seems to be a problem with Addict Mobile Subscribers. I know of two persons - my sister and a friend - who have been experiencing the same situation. When we try calling them, we are diverted to the mailbox. What could be done about this?
Guest grifter Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 yup. i know of 2 other people who also experienced the same problem. sucks huh? anyway, what i did is just to forward the calls to an invalid number, say, +638888888. so if you don't answer or you don't have network coverage, the call just gets a "the number cannot be completed as dialed" message. it sure is better than the voicemail. hehe...
Guest ppcsurfr Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 For No Answer or Unavailable, ou cannot turn off call forwarding... but you ca change the number assisgned... So if you enter the number +639181, then it will try to call an unexistent number and drop the call. Mabuhay ~ Carlo (ppcsurfr) President
Guest jabez Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 My question is ... why do we have to resort to such ways just to avoid Voicemail? SMART should give the user the option to activate and de-activate voicemail features. I hate it when SMART takes away our power of choice. I felt the same about their OTA ads about the Sweepstakes, the Quizzes, the Gimmicks ... When I called *888 ... I was told I could not turn those off! I think they did something about that now.
Do you know that their sales people told me that the Amazing Phone was made and designed exclusively for SMART? I was so surprised to find out that the Canary and the Tanagers are widely distributed in Europe. Some publicity stunt, huh? Heto po ang isa ... I was told I could NEVER OPEN the SIM-lock ... kasi nga "exclusively-designed" ... ha ha ha ... I just unlocked my phone and popped a Globe SIM ... just for kicks!!! Di ba puwedeng maglabas ang Globe ng Globe-Tanager o Globe-SPV? Don't get me wrong ... I have always been a SMART user ... since analog OKI days pa.
Guest grifter Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 it depends on the agreement between HTC and Smart (and possibly MSFT). Pag may exclusivity contract, i don't think any other telco in manila can market the tanager except smart.
Guest mapaman Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 My question is ... why do we have to resort to such ways just to avoid Voicemail? SMART should give the user the option to activate and de-activate voicemail features. go to this site to turn it off/on https://secure.smart.com.ph/SMART/My+Wirele.../Individual/VM/ *requires registration
Guest grifter Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 yep. but if you want to turn it on again, you have to pay 300 bucks for voicemail reactivation. sheesh.
Guest mapaman Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 For No Answer or Unavailable, ou cannot turn off call forwarding... but you ca change the number assisgned... So if you enter the number +639181, then it will try to call an unexistent number and drop the call. Mabuhay ~ Carlo (ppcsurfr) President Sadly, this no longer works...
Guest rodnav Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 @mapaman, does this mean that you could no longer assign a forwarding number or only to an invalid number? what if the one you forwarded it to doesn't answer, does it again go back to the voice mail box?
Guest sonborj Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 Hi fellow Addicts, I have a question: I'm having a bit of a problem... i can't seem to turn off the call forwarding to voicemail feature for no answer and unreachable calls. i've already tried to deactivate is using a nokia phone (using cancel all diverts) but when i check the status, it still says "active". Sheesh! I don't want to disable my voicemail, I only want the option to disable forwarding to voicemail via phone settings. do you guys experience the same problem? Turning off of the forwarding option with SMART units in most cases can only be done if you call and ask SMART to do it. For our corporate account we have to send them a letter to request this. No amount of deactivating in the tanager or other unit can do this. SMART may have had this feature locked in their switch.
Guest grifter Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 it still works for me. just tested it now.
Guest matanglawin Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 go to this site to turn it (voice mail) off/on https://secure.smart.com.ph/SMART/My+Wirele.../Individual/VM/ *requires registration yes...it required registration... and it even sent a Logon ID and a password so I can request for the deactivation of the voicemail service ONLINE... :-s guess what...it has been more than a week now since i tried it, yet it still forwards my unanswered calls to my voicemailbox! IT DOES NOT WORK! For No Answer or Unavailable, ou cannot turn off call forwarding... but you ca change the number assisgned... So if you enter the number +639181, then it will try to call an unexistent number and drop the call. Mabuhay ~ Carlo (ppcsurfr) This does... (hey...what do you know? I have finally reached the 100 mark! ;)/ )
Guest grifter Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 @matanglawin, If you disable the voice mail via the SMART online site, you'll have to pay 300 pesos if ever you want to reactivate it in the future.
Guest matanglawin Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 @grifter i can live without it... ;) asa pa sila na magSPAMyad ako ng P300 para ma-activate ulit 'yon. #-o
Guest bby Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 so there is nothing we can do about this? my friends are starting to hate me.
Guest rodnav Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 @hawkeye regular ka na, another thing to celebrate. @bby, try what ppcsurfr said, try forwarding it to an invalid number, this still works for me.
Guest chibako Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 and it even sent a Logon ID and a password so I can request for the deactivation of the voicemail service ONLINE... :-s guess what...it has been more than a week now since i tried it, yet it still forwards my unanswered calls to my voicemailbox! IT DOES NOT WORK! it worked for me kaya lang, kaya lang it took me more than two weeks ata e. I also called Smart and followed up my request for the deactivation of my voicemail. 300 pesos for the activation? no way! tagal kong naghintay para matanggal lang yun tapos i have to pay 300 just to re-activate it again? NO THANKS! I can also live without voicemail... nakakahiya pa nga minsan sa mga tumatawag e. hindi na nila ako nakausap, kelangan pa nila magbayad  I don't even retrieve voicemails e, so what the use of it for me?! ;) @* i check my running balance using the STK service of smart... it has not been working for me for about 3 days na... is it down or sa SAP ko lang? another thing Im using Qtek ROM, smart has been sending BABE Calendar MMS lately, i had a hard time downloading the pictures. laging downloading pictures and then all of a sudden failed?! :? But with my gf's SAP with Smart 1.37 ROM, she had no problems getting the images... :D Does the ROM affect it? I checked my MMS setting and it correct?! bakit kaya ganun? anyone here experiencing the same?
Guest rodnav Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 FYI retrieving voice mail cost 1.00 per call to the center.
Guest grifter Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 @chibako, just checked my balance using Addict STK. It works fine. Got an SMS saying that I have 1,037.00 of unbilled balance. ;)
Guest chibako Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 @grifter, hey is working now... and i have 1298.66 of unbilled balance  i've trying it since saturday e. and i was not working... tnx grifter! ;) @rodnav, is that per call or per minute?
