I took my SPV out my pocket and none of the buttons would work. The LED was flashing normally but I got no response from any key so I was forced to take the battery off, After putting it back and turning the phone on I got a message about the "Main Battery" being very low.

Since then the phone doesen't seem to charge; I left it on the charger (off) for a couple of hours and when I turned it back on it gave me the same message about "low battery"

I've left it charging while on & off but it's not charging; the battery meter doesen't move from the left side!!

Help!!

That's a very odd problem. If it's just not charging, I suggest you get it replaced with Orange Care, but are you sure it is the battery, and not just the icon and meter?

I've had that problem last week, the phone would not see the charger, tried car as well cos i thought it was the PSU.

Rebooted the phone and it was ok - cant remember if i rebooted with or without the charger connected.

I've been trying to charge it for the last 6 hours but the gauge is still right on the left hand side like about 1-3% full.

I did a hard reset and even installed the update again, still not charging

The LED is flashing Red and the Icon is showing empty with the ! next to it and I get a Low battery message every 10 mins on the phone, I'll ask at the orange shop then if no go, I'll take it up with orange care.

Richie do you mean hard rest on the charger or just turn it on & off while on the charger?

I just turned on and off ;)

As i said i cant remember if the charger was in or not try it either way, leave the phone off for about 10 mins before switching it on.

As we seem to be the only people who have had this, good luck cos it worked for me :)

Any chance you can check the voltage on the power supply?

See if it is still alive? Should be at least 5V.

I've been using the same PSU in the same outlet, even tried different outlets but it's just not charging, what the hell is going on?

Sorry, I wasn't very clear was I?

I meant the voltage at the adapter end of the supply, not the mains voltage. If you have a voltmeter, you can check if your PS is actually putting out power.

Because it sounds as if it could simply be not providing any electricity at all to the phone.

Have you tried booting up with the battery removed? just on the power supply?

ok the phone works without the battery so I guess the PSU is ok, but it still gave me the low battery message about every 7-10 mins!

Then if the PSU is ok, perhaps the battery is dead. You might wanna take it to the store and try charging it on another phone?

Have you checked that the contacts from phone to battery are ok? Clean, uncorroded, and pushing up like they're meant to?

If the battery charges fine in another phone, and the PSU is ok, then there is a problem with the phone's ability to charge, isn't there? Time for a replacement handset, presumably. :)

Well that's f8ck'd up, I've only had this phone about a month, damm.

My first phone had a faulty earpeice, which seem to be a unique problem now I gotto deal with this!!

The contacts are fine I don't get it, I mean the the phone went from about 35% power to dead battery!!

OC baby OC!!
