Discrete MoDaCo surfing???

Paul,

I do a lot of surfing at work and my (nosy) colleauges can easily recognise MoDaCo now by the layout and the rest of it...

Could you add some 'discrete' skin that would be very simplistic and not an attention-seeker?

Here's a poll to see if anyone else thinks alike and wether it's worth your effort..

2 Options:

1. Sign up to plus and get a banner free site...

2. Browse in a little window on http://mobile.modaco.com

:)

What would you imagine a 'discrete' screen looking like? MS word? :(

If you really want a new theme for MoDaCo why not go and download the Subsilver SDK and have a go yourself. Assuming Paul chooses to install your efforts onto his phpBB then you'd be able to select your "muted" theme in your user profile...

Perhaps this could be the start of yet another competition??... :-P

Don't understand PHP, care to put that into English Matt?

But yeah, I'd like a not so obviously Modaco form. Not so much from nosey colleagues, but my boss! I already surf without buttons to try and reduce my 'obviousness'.

BTW, I voted no to the discrete surfing poll (not an issue at my work), but if say Midnight came up with a more funky skin for MoDaCo then I might be up for that! XBox MoDaCo anyone? ;-)

siu99spj,

"Subsilver" is the default theme that comes with phpBB (the forum software Paul is using).

The Subsilver SDK is basically just a bunch of image files that you can alter and load back into your forums to allow users to select a different theme.

A load of people have already published other themes for phpBB, so the other option is to go find a suitable one and persuade Paul to install it.

Ah, so its Pauls fault :) and nothing I can do on my end. I'll wait to see what other people come up with. Even if I was artistic enough to build one I'd end up screwing it up somehow!

Is there any way the forum could be disguised as an excel spreadsheet or an oracle e-suite db?

This would be of tremendous use to me at work...

Disk Defragmenter anyone? :)

Paul - mobile modaco is definitely lacking much for a desktop browse. And I have no clue re phpBB :(

PS: Could you make Topic name appear first in the browser titlebar when in a topic? (and ffs get rid of that 'View Topic' thingie.. - useless). And normal (MoDaCo Smartphone first) when in Index, Main, soft...

Now, don't blame me if you all get sacked, but...

Check this out:

http://www.ghostzilla.com/home.html

It's the stealth web browser... checking their site I think they may now be being dodgy... there's a free version for download which is fine, but they seem to think they can sell a "better" version... I'm sure it's all based on Mozilla which is GPL. But aside from that... it's the coolest browser thing I've seen in a long time.

A partnership between MoDaCo and Ghostzilla perhaps?

Discount on Ghostzilla CD for plus members?

That Ghostzilla is just what I needed - top quality masking/quickhide surfing... The surfing is actually far from top quality, but it uses Mozilla engine stripped of all extras basically AND supports TABS!!

Thanks for tip spacemy!
