irDa with other devices

Hi after looking through the posts i notcied that nobody has mentioned Irda problems, i noticed a lot of "i cant get my spv to speed up" ect ect.

there should be a faq for this.

anyway leading of the subject .

has anybody had any problems with there irDa , i cannot send a contact from my spv to my trium PDA i can send a contact from my spv to my pda but not vice versa, nor can i send anything else!

any sugestions or other coments from other people as this is doing my head in :roll:

To send a file for example, from your SPV to any device you need a 3rd party app like

Smart Explorer (if your SPV has been decerted ) as standard the SPV can only receive and not send

but the above app enables you to :(

you will also find a large range of non-certed freeware apps there as well

I can't send or receive anything from my dell axim, but i can from and to my hp568/548/720LX/620LX so basically the dell which is the fastest Pocket PC i Have is useles for me, I have a couple of Palms as well maybe i will put some batteries in and try them too.

Oh i can't send or recieve anything to a N***a 7650 (Brick) either which is a real pain in the A**e!

hehe ok let me make it simpler i have the app you mentioned (that was my first thought) i wa sthinking i could get it to wokr that way but no!!

what i was wondering is that the active sync (which my pda has aswell) does not want to talk to older versions (i dont have a way of finding out what version my pda has) but then again it should not need to rely on active sync to transfer data as my spv was able to transfer via the contacts page (you know contact then press menu and then beam contact)

but you cant do the same from pda, you have the spv on recieve and the pda makes contact with the spv but the the spv just sits there dribling

any other sugestions short of a big hammer!!

i do love my spv more then my pda but my pda boots faster hence why it is easyer to but contacts on my pda
