Guest mac1 Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Can anyone tell me what de cert is?, how to do it and should I do it to my spv?
Guest Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 De-cert means de-certifing your phone. Orange has put a block on any aplications being run on the SPV unless they are certified by Orange. If you don't de-cert your phone the only applications that you will be able to use are ones certified by Orange, typically anything that is freeware will not be certified. If you do de-cert you will be able to install most of the software disscussed on this board. There are two ways to de-cert; the http://www.coolsmartphone.com/app-cert.htm>hard way and the http://www.developers.orange.com/workingwith/2003/03/04/Unlocking/>easy way. The hard way involves a bit of hacking about, the easy way Orange do it for you OTA (Over The Air). I recomend the Orange route, but do be patient because it sometimes takes a few hours to be done. Welcome to the world of SPV!
