Games in landscape mode

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the world of smartphone development, though i've done

tons of stuff for PC's.

I was wondering how people feel about games that are played in landscape mode, ie. with the phone on its side. All of the games I have seen seem to be portrait.

I've got a few ideas in the pipeline, many of them requiring a landscape screen, but I don't want to start anything major if people don't like it, or if there are any problems with certain phones. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Boxy project and Mircoturismo are both designed to be played in landscape (both available from my site).

Landscape is good in my books :)

not a problem with it in landscape mode. the dpad works fine at both orientations. mind you, reaching additional buttons in that mode could be difficult.

MoonPatrol is in landscape too.. and i like it

Lol.. I've always played Microturismo in portrait..?? but i have no problems winning, so i gues you can do both :)

if you've got the time, do like motorcross and make it selectable!

otherwise, yep, landscape's much more natural, but controls are limited...

and no chance of soft-keyboard control :)
