Guest timlegrand Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 Hi all, is it possible to have my internet-based e-mail (yahoo.com) to be forwarded to my spv inbox? It's a touch irritating to have to keep dialling up to get my e-mail...and i'm not too keen on getting a new e-mail address cos I've had it for years! Any ideas? :? Cheers! Tim
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 Isn't it possible to get yahoo mail forwarded to a POP mailbox? If it is then you could just forward it there and check it from your SPV. There's no way of checking HTTPmail other than Hotmail on your SPV AFAIK.
Guest timlegrand Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 That sounds really promising, but it'd great if you could explain the POP bit for me....! At the moment I can view my e-mail on the phone, but only via the yahoo website, so it takes about five minutes for me to open up my account, does the POP-way tell me on my SPV when I get mail, or are you saying that this is impossible? Ta for your help!!
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 OK, I'll just see if I can remember my ancient yahoo password.....aha, got it. Right, you can only set the "Reply to" field so that people automatically reply to your POP mailbox, e.g. your Orange mailbox - yahoo can't (or won't) do an auto-forward. Annoying, but you can understand them. they want you to read 1 million ads every time you log on.... Maybe you could try http://mobile.yahoo.com/ - might take a little less time to load.
