Converting from AVI to WMV

Anybody got the details on how to convert from AVI to WMV not using Windows Media Converter, cause mine crashes all the time.

I didn't bother with windows media player wma conversion cos its shite!!! I used MUSICMATCH and just reduced the MP3's from128Kb down to 64Kb they are then half the size :( and the media player picks them up straight away if you download them to your storage card (SD)

You can get MUISCMATCH of the cover of Personal COmputer World DVD or KAZZA.

errrr i think that he's asking about video files rather than audio files. In my opinion, i wouldn't bother with wmvs at all. If you want video on your phone i would go with PocketMVP [8R b3 - see software section].

Download Virtual Dub, ClintEastmans dub settings v2 [somewhere in Off Topic] and away you go. MUCH better video [and full screen] and only slightly bigger file sizes. I reduce the bitrate sometimes[depending on what i'm encoding] to keep the file sizes manageable.

Theres a many good guides to encoding in Virtual Dub floating around on the forum only a search away...
