Guest amo Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 Went on a Roadshow last Sunday run by Orange as part of a training program in time for their new "Dylan" advertising campaign (Thanks a lot orange for now making me a "phone trainer" - dammit) and at this roadshow there were representatives from many different manufacturers. Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericson, Nokia, Panasonic and wait for it....Microsoft!!! The MS rep was about as helpful as a fur coat in a desert, she couldn't really answer any of my questions. Funnily enough, she said to us all in this seminar...."The spv will always be cutting edge as its the software that will change, not the hardware." So I went forward to ask her if this was the case, why other smartphones are going to be released such as the e100 (watch the blank expression on her face!) which had a better screen and how this still allows the SPV to be the cutting edge product. Anyway, after this talk about the software being the key, I asked her when the new update was out and she didnt have a clue, then i asked her when Ozone - or Smartphone 03 will be out and she didnt have a clue what I was talking about. Anyway, the point of this thread. She ended up showing us the fabric keyboard and after I pestered her for another 15 minutes to try and get some questions answered, she informed me that the keyboard will be soon be shipped with the phone itself for free in orange retail stores!!!! :) Anyone else heard this??? p.s. Was anyone else at any of the orange roadshows?

If she was stunningly attractive, short skirt, curves in the rights places etc. then I would say 'no chance' and was fobbing you off

This event was organised by orange, for orange retail staff so fobbing off wouldnt be in their best interests.

Especially when the area manager and regional managers are lurking around.... I was also told, 2 new smartphones to be released in June.

However, it was the microsoft rep who told me this...she even had the tshirt! (and game me a microsoft cap - paul, contact me if u want it to give away in a cheesy merchandise competition :) - mind you, it wouldnt really compare to the spvx or dev kit does it, a crappy cap with really bad stitching).
