Guest PaulN Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Hi All, My home screen says I have 227 sms, but I haven't. Is it possible to clear the counter without a hard reset?
Guest casper508 Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Could be a small error in the XML file. Have you tried changing to a different home screen? Does this heppen with every home screen?
Guest PaulN Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 It happens on every skin I try. It started when it got 800 sms messages, i used the sms tool to delete them and I have cleared the deleted folder. :)
Guest yatpeak Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Thats very unusual, I've never heard of it before. If worst comes to worst, you could perform a hard reset, but I'm sure somone will have an idea how to fix it. Good luck, Wyatt
Guest casper508 Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Where did my message go ?? Have to type all that again ? :) Hang in there PaulN possible solution coming up. Cas

It started when it got 800 sms messages, i used the sms tool to delete them and I have cleared the deleted folder. :) Right. You have two choices Choice 1: ----------- The SMS and messages are stored in the IPSM folder. Provided that you WANT TO DELETE all messages (read and unread) you can do the following. Goto IPSM folder and delete the following file. WARNING: You will NOT be able to restore these files. IPSMmxip_lang.vol IPSMmxip_initdb.vol IPSMcemail.vol Restart the phone and new empty copies of these files will be created and the counter will be rested to 0 as well. Choice 2 ---------- You DONT want to delete the messages so using this thread you can restore them. http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=2287 But to be honest im not 100% sure if this method will reset the counter. Hope it helps. Cas
Guest PaulN Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 method 1, but I've just found it stoped my phone from syncing and I had to do a hard reset anyway. :)
Guest casper508 Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 I think all you had to do was delete partnership, restart the PC and create a new partnership. Anyways what ever works ! :) Cas
Guest madu Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 PS: Those files also have Contact&Calendar information. So do Orange BACKUP before deleting the files..
