Guest malloc Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 Was bored yesterday night, so I did a quick and dirty port of the great xRick (from www.bigorno.net). Keys are pad + 1 for action, 2 for pause, * to exit Have fun :) ps : there's no sound support, if somebody would like to add it, he is welcome  mallocxrick_src.rarxrick.rar
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 I used to play this game ALL the time!! Excellent!! Would be great if someone would add sound support *hehe* /me wishes she had the talent *sniff*
Guest madu Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 Brilliant malloc!! Someone's been up all night then eh? :) It is hard to jump & move left/righ same time. How about using key 1 for jumps.
Guest Gorskar Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 Cool, thanks for this. I'm sure some sound would go down well if anyone cound do this :)
Guest Coolboy1982 Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 looks great, but I get stuck directly after half a minute, because those enemies run to quickly for me to climb down the ladder... I tried a cheat I found for the normal version, but it didn't work... Also the controls are kind of fiddly! Would additional mapping of the number keys (like in snake) be possible?
Guest Gorskar Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 I've worked out how to shoot now - you need to hold down the action (1) button, and then press up. To drop a dynamite hold down the action button and press down. You'll find it a lot easier to do when you can actually kill stuff!
Guest amo Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 Can someone post some screenshots, ive never even heard of this game!

To drop a dynamite hold down the action button and press down. You'll find it a lot easier to do when you can actually kill stuff! Then let me just reiterate that this calls for new and improved controls!!! Apart from this, good work though!!!
Guest Coolboy1982 Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 Can someone post some screenshots, ive never even heard of this game! Just try it yourself! It is great! By the way, it would also be nice, if the highscore list remained permanent!
Guest amo Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 oh my god this is the first game ive got addicted on, on the spv!!!
Guest caio1 Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 It gives an "application error" when any kind of phone alert pops up or when you pause it and the homescreen comes back. Caio
Guest malloc Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 New (and last version from me this time  ) Download Page - added horizontal scrolling instead of strech when in game (far more beautifull while ingame) - added jump on the key 2 - solved the incoming call problem malloc
Guest ricmoo2003 Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 jump is on key 4, excellant work, brilliant game Thanks
Guest Dave DR Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 added to www.spvdd.co.uk hope you dont mind!
Guest mashkhan Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 Was bored yesterday night, so I did a quick and dirty  port of the great xRick Malloc, here's hoping you have alot of boring nights  Cheers for the port :)
Guest malloc Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 Stuff on Smartphony added Sound support and Landscape play :) Download New Version from Stuff too cool  malloc
Guest mashkhan Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 Nice :) :( Is it me or this game really hard
Guest foxy11 Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 omg RICK DANGEROUS!, this r0x, used to spend hours on this on the amiga, can see my SPV battery taking a battering :)
Guest vijay555 Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 jeez, at least i knew how to play it, but yeah, it's still too hard. are any of the original cheats in the game, or will i have to hack the source?! V
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 Hmmm I'm gonna have to read the instructions .. cause the sound don't seem to work on mine *ponder*
Guest Gorskar Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 It worked for me - the xrick.exe in a folder, and all the sounds in a subfolder called (and you'll never guess this) "sounds" ! - create a shortcut, move it to the start menu and you're away!
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 Ditto! I'd forgotten how annoying the 'Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah' is :) P
