Guest yatpeak Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Hi, A while ago I posted a thread asking if someone would try porting Chips Challenge, but I even have the source code for the PC version. I'm now asking if anyone would be interested in porting it if I could get the source code for a PPC version? Thanks, Wyatt
Guest Cent Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Send me the source and I will be glad to have a look at it.
Guest yatpeak Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Thanks, I am just seeing if I can get the source, but if I get it i'll send it straight to you. Wyatt
Guest yatpeak Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 I spoke to the creator/porter of Chip's Challenge PPC Edition, and he would rather not release the source, but he believes that it works well on unlocked SPVs. I couldn't get it to work, but if you go to http://www.iceboxman.com/software/pocketpc/chips.php you can find it. You will need chips.dat also, which comes with the game if you download it. If someone manages it, could they please tell me how they did it? Thanks, Wyatt
Guest benjymous Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Careful - Chips Challenge was a commerical game. The implementation is freeware, but the data is still commercial (just like with pocketscumm)
Guest davy Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 There are loads of homemade versions of the game at the Yahoo! Groups link which are surely legal to play if they are compatible with/ and if we get the freeware implementation to work on the spv. If I am correct in my above assumption how do I install on my spv? The read me text with the download states I need 4 files 1.Chips.exe 2.Chips.dat 3.GD104.dll 4.gx.dll 1 and 3 came with the download. I believe I would change the downloaded homemade file name to that shown at 2. What does No 4 refer to? It also states GAPI 1.2 must be installed. Where do I install this on my spv? Thanks in advance, davy.

Guest davy Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Ah well, played around with this for a while but couldn't get it working. GAPI 1.2 is not compatible with spv which may be the problem. Guess I'll have to wait 'til someone cleverer than me figures this one out. davy.
Guest yatpeak Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Darn, I hope someone does manage to figure it out. Wyatt
