Guest marc225 Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Is it at all possible to save pictures downloaded via email to my SPV? Regards Marc
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Hi. Use all-explorer and go to IPSM/MAPI/ATTACHMENTS. Select the file you want and change its extension to what it should be. That is if its a picture, change it from .att to .jpg. Then use all-explorer to move it to wherever you want it saved. :)
Guest yatpeak Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 There should really be an option... Ah well, at least it's simple. Wyatt
Guest fozzie Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I believe I have a better method that retains the correct filename for the attachment: 1. Click on the attachment(s) in your Inbox. The attachment will either open if there is an associated application, or an error message will be displayed if not - either way, it doesn't matter. 2. Using ALL-explorer (or equivalent), navigate to IPSM/Application Data/Volatile. The attachment(s) that were clicked on will be temporarily available here, with correct filenames. 3. Copy them to your directory of choice. I've used this method many times before and it saves messing around with file renaming.
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Interesting Foz - I was always wondering what that Volatile folder was for. But still, yes, it should be more straightforward - attachments should retain their proper file extensions when being saved in the attachments folder. :?
Guest fozzie Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 How is that easier, sorry? Wyatt If you've got a few emails with a few attachments then it is a pain in the neck trying to work out which attachment belongs to which email?! With this method it is quite clear, because the attachment has its' correct name. Also, you also don't have to rename the attachment, which saves time and effort :)
