Guest The unexpected guest ! Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Paul, can you confirm Smartphone 2003? :)
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 "Asus presents at CeBIT 2003: AGP 600 - cell phone powered by MS Smartphone software of NEXT GENERATION"http://www.microsoftmobiles.com/news.php/448.html Sounds very cool but how ugly is it? Yuk. Yet another bloody clamshell design
Guest spacemonkey Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 I don't think smartphone 2003 is gonna be a huge difference from what we're using right now, I'd definitely expect full compatability of apps. Look at the specs of the phone. Same resolution, color depth etc, this implys to me that the major elements will be consistent, more like the move from Palm OS 3-4, just adding other supported features like bluetooth etc native to the OS. Just my call tho, I don't actually know anything :)
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Sounds reasonable... but aren't we tooting our own horn? :)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 NB: Paul is on holiday until Thursday-ish
Guest jhew Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 that phone looks like my anus You mean your anus has a funny little arial too? And a colour screen?? dread to think what it's displaying :) A picture of George W Bush perhaps? (a real a**hole) ;)
Guest Southwestwall Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 No, that phone can't bear any resemblance to... Saw Mianus on Jackass - its a small town in the US :) BTW, Hello to jpzr... of msmobiles.com ? The Unexpected Guest ?
Guest yatpeak Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Is that a colour screen I see on the front...? But it's has a flip lid! And that camera on the front, firstly, it's on the lid, so it probably wont be straight when opened, and it will probably be constantly being accidentally touched. I'd wait till they came out with a phone shaped like the SPV/Tanager. Wyatt
Guest Vector Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Somebody's bound to bring out a normal phone that is not a flip with smartphone 2003
Guest PhilA Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I think the most important thing about this phone (apart from the fact that it's pig ugly!) is this little word in the specs below the photo: Bluetooth
Guest sykix Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 The new OS looks in line with MS's .NET strategy... which means good development tools (i.e. VS.NET 2003).
Guest abamara Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 200mHz sounds quite good but there's something about a clamshell..... Still prefer SPV or SPVx!:-)
Guest vijay555 Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 http://www.msmobiles.com/news.php/456.html Blackberry on Smartphone...this should really help Smartphone take off: for businesses Blackberry use is a no-brainer.
