Guest nickcornaglia Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Works on the PPC. How 'bout on the Smartphone Platform as well?
Guest Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 I've posted on this topic several times, even emailed companies currently producing good finance software and spreadsheets, but nobody seems interested. In fact I notice one recent thread regarding Microsoft Money has been locked.......I wonder why  : - http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=85944 I believe it might be a failing in the cut-down operating system preventing this kind of software, and spreadsheet software, from being produced. I think this is a serious omission on the part of Smartphone 2002, as the Smartphone is the ideal device on which to enter transactions on the go. Too much emphasis has been placed on writing games for Smartphone, rather than useful applications, and it is for these reasons that I have abandoned my SPV in favour of the open Sony Ericsson P800. Comments anyone?
Guest spacemonkey Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 Mr Man, I think part of the reason we haven't seen so many apps and there's been such a games focus for smartphone 2002 is because the ONLY development tool that we have is C++. I hope that once smartphone v.next comes out you will see a massive increase in productivity software as it will become easy to program business tools using the .Net Compact Framework. C++ on smartphone 2002 doesn't even include MFC which is a framework that makes building apps on pocket pc easier. Just another issue with such a young operating system.
