Guest o0Dr4g0n0o Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 i have the same problem... just got my phone 3 days ago... i have read the MMS settings for globe on some sites and user groups... but it doesn't seem to work. i heard that globe recently blocked some of the settings so it may be that i need the new settings for MMS to work. If anyone out there using Globe can send MMS, pls help us out :) Thanks!

Guest martin Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 got the same problem to i've been trying to configure it for two days. even tried asking globe csr but they don't know athing about what their sayuingI'm not sure about Globe but I would probably try this and see if it works. Settings-Data Connections - Edit GPRS connections Description : MMS connection Connects to : MMS connection Access point: mms.globe.com.ph Settings - Accessories - MMS setup First field: MMS connection IP: 192.40.100.20 Port: 9201 (or try port 9203) Mmsc Address: http://192.40.100.22:10021/mmsc Make sure that Globe has setup MMS on your account. Also take note of the following at FAQs for Multi-media Messaging Service Can a Globe subscriber send an MMS message to a Smart subscriber? Currently, Globe subscribers cannot send an MMS message to Smart subscribers, but we are looking at interconnection in the future. Can I receive an MMS message from SMART? Currently, Globe MMS message is available for Globe to Globe subscribers. I would try and send a text message to yourself. Hope it works for you. martin
Guest o0Dr4g0n0o Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 The settings above worked!!! use port 9201... WOW... THANKS Martin! :)
Guest martin Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 Great! I'm really really glad it worked. I'll update the GPRS repository in the articles section. That a FULL GPRS setup for the Globe network :)
Guest martin Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 You should also be able to setup the SPV for secure HTTP web pages. Create another proxy connection Description: Secure HTTP Connects from: The Internet Connects to: Secure WAP network Proxy (name:port): 0.0.0.0 Type: HTTP Username: Password: In data connections make 'Secure WAP connection: Globe GPRS' . It is HTTP protocol and therefore must connect to APN internet.globe.com.ph. I am now trying to figure out how to activate SSL and WTLS encryption for Internet Banking. No luck so far - maybe Smart Communications knows ? :) I've tried using proxy IP address with port 9203.
Guest arvmd Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I have tried the above settings but it still doesn't work, I can receive but can't download the pictures, (transfer failed msg) and can't send too, but i can access the GPRS and WAP already, by the way how were you able to type the / sign to write the http add, its not available in the characters. Hope you could help me make my MMS work. Tnx a lot.

Hi there The address for the MMSC is http://192.40.100.22:10021/mmsc and you may have to include the htpp:// part. Keep the # key pressed down when editing to get the symbol list. If you have entered all the data correctly and it still won't work then call you mobile operator and make sure that MMS has been activated for you. martin 8)

I have even used different sim cards with active MMS. My GPRS and WAP settings are ok, I wonder where my problem is. Hope for any help you can extend, tnx Both GPRS and MMS work in my postpaid SIM IN prepaid, only MMS works. I have tried and tried and tried to make GPRS work with prepaid but could not get anywhere. Are you able to browse internet with prepaid?
Guest tutut17 Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 internet browsing through smartphone or PDA via GPRS only works for postpaid accounts either for smart or globe, only WAP via GPRS work with prepaid accounts.
Guest terrible Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 @tutu17 I'd like to correct you there. My daughter is using a Smart prepaid with her SAP and she can do a lot of things using GPRS. Browse the web, send/receive POP/SMTP e-mail, logon to MSN and chat, etc. You can't do this things over WAP. Smart or Globe won't allow you (most especially Globe where WAP is still free).
Guest martin Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 It looks like there is no internet web surfing for Globe prepaid  Globe GPRS prices Smart just say that GPRS has to be activated and then lists all the services which includes web browing. They don't say mention anything about prepaid or contract so maybe they do both ? Smart GPRS information
