Why can't I see the SMS sender name, only her number?

Why can't I see the SMS sender name, only her number? When someone sends me an SMS, I only see their number not heir name, even though they are in my contacts list. Has anyone else had this problem?

Weclome to the site, I see you've found a known problem, but don't panic,

THERE IS A SOLUTION!

I guess you are in the UK?

simply use the 'outlook contact reformatter'

07343 454454 turns into +447343 454454 and now your text messages will all appear correctly.

(your calls will still cost the same) and you can still dial as normal!
