Guest Kuturock Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 I wish to delete a wav file from the ipsm/windows/startup folder but always get the message "access denied". I need to change to a different startup sound. Any help is appreciated.
Guest tommo8845 Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 I had the same problem in the end I needed to do a Hard Reset
Guest 4375_1437906633 Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 me too :) Now it is finaly gone :(
Guest NickB&SPV Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 If your phone is de-certed then you can use the Registry Editor which you can download from monolithix site. This will enable you to change the start-up sound. Then visit Midnight's SPV site on registry tweaks for many other things aswell. Hope this helps. :)
Guest helmetshine Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 think that was the same prob i had....what i did tho was ,using activsync, created a new folder called startup, copied everything, except the sound, from the original to that, renamed the original as .old..turned phone off then on again and just deleted the original folder.....seems to have worked and caused no probs....so far
Guest lisann Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 I had this problem... I just cut and pasted it to my sounds folder, then deleted it in there.
Guest Ras Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 So you guys actually had a startup sound??? Mine is silent on startup... was expecting some nice Microsoft chime...but got nada!!! Any hints???
Guest madu Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 Use ActiveSync Explorer to delete the file. Some files are not handled by SP explorers correctly. Also check if it is ReadOnly if still having problems.
