Guest SirOracle Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Had all of the above problems with spv. Did hard reset loads of times still nothing. Looked thru loads of posts. Still no answer. Orange Tech support no help there systems were down. Did notice on posts that people were being sent new phones. However...... The problem was the battery it was dead. Doh! Anyway thought I'd put this up in case anyone else has similar probs. Bit weird the battery was dead though it was on an overnight charge. Unless the alarm uses vast amounts of battery life in a couple of minute.

The phone must then have enough juice left over to initate an IMSI attach to the network (requiring sufficient TX power for uplink communication). I take that the name 'orange' didn't appear on the phone before the screen locked up ? It would also be worth trying to boot up the phone in the cradle to eliminate a faulty battery that was not holding its charge. Since a phone replacement is sent without the battery, what would happen if the battery was faulty ? :x
Guest SirOracle Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 What you have said makes sense as the next step for the phones booting up process would be to connect to a provider. Perhaps a screen should come on warning you of a low battery before it tries to boot up. I did read on one post that someone had had their phone replaced and the same problem occured!! Although it is a natural thing to plug everything into the charger when you get a new phone.
