Collecting info on Failed Update fixes...

In the interest of creating a definitive article on this subject, as we seem to be getting many requests for help on the subject in H&A, I'm looking for people who've had their phone unable to boot past the three colour screen after a failed update.

In particular, I'd like to know what you did to try to fix it., and what did fix it in the end.

The basic fix is to rerun the update, but this sometimes fails repeatedly.

Form some time spent on Search, I understand the following have been found to work :

1. Rebooting the PC.

2. Changing PCs altogether.

3. Killing WCESCOMM first.

None of these seem to be REQUIRED, tho, and none of them seem to have worked for everyone.

If we can collect all your experience on this, then we'll help our poor friends with dead SPVs over in H&A, and create an article for the benefit of their future brethren.
