Guest Simon Desser Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 but you dont understand , you can never get reception in this street! and now i have four bars! and i an right down the bottom.... well here is hoping to it staying like it Can you actually make and receive calls? I've seen the meter get "stuck" on 4 bars when I knew it should be 1 at best, then tried to make a call, and it jumps back to what it should be?
Guest SirGaz Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 I live in a really old house with walls about 3 feet thick, and every mobile I've had I struggle to get a signal. When the update came out I suddenly got 2 bars virtually everywhere.
Guest HungrySPV Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 but you dont understand , you can never get reception in this street! and now i have four bars! and i an right down the bottom.... well here is hoping to it staying like it I usually get 1 bar at home, unless I come in from a close area where there is a stronger signal and it actually keeps that signal even if it is further away. I just need to turn it off and I lose my great signal. Because the mast signals overlap you can get away with this sometimes. Maybe it the same for you ???
Guest xanadu Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 It's called constantly improving and upgrading the network....It's something we are doing everyday even while you sleep in your bed at night.
Guest James Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 its gone again :) it only lasted about 6 hours! :(
Guest MECX Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 doesnt the weather effect your signal.?? maybe thats it. or maybe its them damn signal faries!!!
Guest James Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 well thats what i have put it down to! as it was on and off last night also.
Guest antz Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 Yeah, the update seemed to change the signal meter. Before I never got above 3 bars, and in lecture theaters it never worked at all, so I never turned it off. Then I upgraded, went into a lecture, and it started vibrating! From then on I did not fall asleep once, I could always check email, chat on MSN.. Not that it's relevant now with the new data tarifs, but is there a newsreader for SPV?
