Guest nedge2k Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Hi. I was just wondering weather anybody knew of a way to allow the SPV to directly download .zip files? At first I didn't think it would be possible but then I noticed that before I downloaded Pocket TV I couldn't directly download MPEG's and that after the download the registry had been reconfigured to allow direct downloads of MPEG's. With this in mind I downloaded SmartZip in the hope that it would do the same for .zip files. Unfortunately it didn't. So can anyone tell me how to tweak the reg so that .zip's can be downloaded to the phone? Also, any ideas how to stop music/video files being downloaded to the Volitile folder and change it to the Storage Card. Thanks in advance for any help.
Guest madu Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 if yo post a link to MPEG file that you downloaded I will investigate...
Guest nedge2k Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Cheers. I downloaded Pocket TV from http://forum.pocketmovies.net/mobile/viewt...opic.php?p=3368 .It somehow tweaks the file associations and probably other stuff in the reg to allow direct MPEG downloads to the phone. Just cant figure out how to copy that and do the same for .zip files.
Guest madu Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 I know where to find PTV, what mpeg were you trying to download, because some servers do not stream correctly/allow download. So what's the link to mpg that you d/loaded successfuly
Guest Brody Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 More importantly is there still no progress on direct zip downloads?
Guest madu Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 We're working on it Brody. I just need that st00pid mpeg link to do some testing!
Guest nedge2k Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Most MPEG sites work fine with the SPV. particulary http://www.JoshEllison.com. Its only with .wmv's you get the problems (try forevertwisted for these). I just try out all the sites on my phone. If they work they work, if they dont they dont. Right then, the .zip files?
