Guest Simon Desser Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 If I were to get a Tanager (or whatever it might be called) when available, will ALL my existing SPV software automatically work on it, or does the software have to be altered to run on a Tanager? I'm thinking mainly that the Tanager has a joystick, so does software have to be altered to make use of this? If it does need changing, and the Certification fiasco is still in place, would the software vendors have to get their programs "re-signed"? If so, I think this is highly unfair!
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 The Tanager doesn't have a joystick as such, its just a move comfortable/usable form of our direction pad/action key. So all of your software will work fine, the Tanager is just an SPV in different clothing :)
Guest spacemonkey Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 The whole point of smartphone 2002 is to set a standard for what hardware an application can expect. This means all smartphone 2002 apps should work on all smartphone 2002 phones without any modification. Also, Tanager is sooo similar to SPV that it'll definitely have no probs.
Guest Simon Desser Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 Cool! Thanks for that. Now, does anyone want to sell me one? :)
