Ok, So I'm listening to tunes last night, get home, take off headset, pop SPV into charger etc...

Get to work this morning, turn phone on still says "Headset". No matter how many times I reboot it still there. So as a result can't make/recieve calls.

Really don't want to do yet another hard reset so does anyone have a solution?

Thanks in advance

Hank

What happens if you try and change it in settings-profiles ?

Quite a few people have had this problem, seems to be hardware rather than software so resetting the phone probably won't make any difference.

There are some solutions here, if not try taking it back to Orange and ask for a new phone

Cheers guys.

I'll try the coolsmartphone tip of putting the jack plug in/out again, hopefully that'll sort it, unfortunately my headset is at home 20 miles away so I'll have to be phoneless today   :)

Martin: The settings just stay as they are, can't get it to change them.

BLOW HARD into the socket - that sorted the problem at its early stages for me, though it does get worth, so in thew long run you want to replace it (if it is indeed a h/w fault)

Cheers guys. Fixed it when I got home, and it was fine. Makes me a bit wary of using the headset now though as I waould hate it to be a permanent problem. If it does become an issue, am I entitled to a new handset, as it is obviously a design fault rather than a breakage on my part?

i've been having this problem for a few weeks now. blowing into the socket seems to solve it every time but it is very annoying. it iwll even switch to headset just as a call comes in, forcing me to phone them back (at a cost :x ).

is the only option to take the handset back?

Does anyone know if you can take the phone apart and break this functionality - it'd be less hassle to switch it manually.
