HEY, I'VE JUST COMPLETED THE UK UPDATE AND NOW I CAN'T OPEN ANY PROGRAMS, AND I SEEM TO BE MISSING "REPLLOG.EXE" AND "TMAIL.EXE". I'M ALSO NOW UNSIGNED FOR A BUNCH OF THE ORANGE APPS. NOT TO MENTION THE PHONE TAKES 5 MINS. TO BOOTUP

not sure if this helps, but - I did the UK update for a colleague yesterday and had all sorts of problems with the phone freezing etc. so I pulled the battery out for a while, then re-booted a few times and it seemed to sort itself out. have you tried a hard reset?

...or, failing that, try re-downloading and reinstalling the update.

I'VE REINSTALLED THE UPDATE A COUPLE OF TIMES, I'M STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE FREEZING UP AND APPS. I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO RE-DOWNLOAD THE UPDATE. A HARD RESET DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. THANKS ANYWAYS

Good rule of thumb: if the update doesn't work properly first time out, always re-download - there's a reasonable chance your download has been minutely corrupted...

NO USE TRIED AND TRIED, STILL NOTHING "O" SAYS ITS OUT OF THEIR HANDS AND I NEED TO CONTACT MICROSOFT. I SEEM TO BE MISSING ALL KINDS OF FILES LIKE "REPLLOG, TMAIL AND SOMETHING FOR MEDIA" I CAN'T CONNECT WITH ACTIVESYNC TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, MIND YOU, I DON'T HAVE A DIGITAL SIGNATURE ANYMORE FOR HALF OF THE APPS!!!

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Please don't "shout", there's no reason for all the capitals.

I assume you downloaded the correct update for your country?

Sorry for the caps, but I don't have the option on my other comp. I'm using the correct update, but I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that this phone when new, was on contract, however now it's on PAYG. Also, the previous rom was 1.1.3...maybe somthing to do with that? Once again very sorry about the caps..

The fact that the phone's on PAYG shouldn't make any difference at all, neither should the previous ROM version, as long as you're installing the appropriate update for your country. You can always try your local Orange store; they can flash the ROM for you - I expect they'll require proof of purchase in order to do so...
