Guest brnoblade Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 I have removed the sim lock on the first attempt, I have done the latest update with no probs, but come to de-cert and I have failed miserably. I have made over 300 attempts with no success(304 to be precise). I am now at the end of my tether and I have finally given up, and I am selling this ornament. I have followed all instructions and have used the app unlock programme, but to no avail.  :)
Guest spacemonkey Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 latest update? That wouldn't happen to be the latest DK update? Cos if your read the board you'd know this is unable to be de-certed currently.
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 I assume you've tried all the various tips that have been posted here? It's damn frustrating, I know...the thing that worked for me, pre-DKupdate2, was to prioritize ActiveSync to "Realtime" in task manager.
Guest Speedy Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 Chris b.a.r.f. i would like to know more about this. Have you found away around to decert? Because, as i posted you are able to roll the dk update back and decert.
Guest kevlar Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 you probably don't want to here this, but I have de-certed my phone twice, both times at first attempt!. No secret, no tips, no sim lock, just followed the instructions to the letter and it worked. Guess I was just very lucky! Kevlar
Guest ajb3000 Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 I've also done it twice, first time with original software and worked first time, 2nd time with UK update and took 2 attempts. Make sure you have edited the file correctly, and try using the script someone on this board wrote to copy the files over for you.
Guest boinging Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 I too found the de-cert an impossible task until I used the file copying application which is posted on here. Once I downloaded that little bombay bad boy I decerted 1st time... All I can say is keep trying and start the copying tool before you put the SPV back into the cradle and make sure you put back into the cradle virtually straight after the blue screen comes up. Best of luck
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 I also had mine for sale last week, but there's so much bulls**t flying around about the SPV that I didn't get a single half-decent offer. So it looks as though I'll be sticking around for a while yet....
Guest Myke Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 you guys are crazy, the SPV is the most amazing phone I have ever seen!
Guest yatpeak Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 I'd have to agree with you, Myke, but it can be pretty irritating when it wont work. Wyatt
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 you guys are crazy, the SPV is the most amazing phone I have ever seen! You're right, it is. Thing is, the Siemens SL45i suits my purposes even better and the quality is in another league entirely. Don't get me wrong, I really like my SPV, but Orange DK's attitude to it (lack of decent support especially) has jaundiced my view of things a little.....
Guest simon11 Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 I bought one in January before the UK update. I thought it was crap and took it back. Bought another since after the update came out. I now find it a superb sorted phone!! ;) :)
Guest Ed Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 To late the phone is sold. Thank God for that.
Guest brnoblade Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 Well, I, thought I had sold it, but the bloke has yet to come and pick it up, so I saw version 2 of the de-cert app, and I thought I would give it a go(with no real hope of success) but how wrong could I be. Voila, a de-certed phone. So the outcome of the total waster who didn`t turn up is one very happy SPV owner, who will never consider selling the phone again. Thanks to Lovemy spv :)
