data transfer rate

I have managed to connect my spv using the usb cradle and is working fine as a modem to connect to the internet through a laptop with xp. The connection i use is the normal data connection at 9.6kb/s.

On my old motorola v66 mobile i used a command line in advanced modem options to increases the speed to 14.4kb/s with a normal data connection as follows:

at+cbst=14,0,1

I am connected to orange UK and have be given command lines from customer servies to try as follows:

at80cbst=14,0,1

at+cbst=0,0,chsn=4,0,012

at+cbst=0,0,75,0,1=4,0,012

None of the above command lines work has anyone got any information or advice. I no gprs is the faster connection but I find it more expensive as an internet connection.
