Guest ClintEastman Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 Well kids, here they are come and get em! Same drill as before, USE LETTERBOX as the quality is FAR, FAR better than the normal settings (have you noticed all my trailers are letterbox?). The normal settings should be good for things like South Park (high compression). And PLEASE can i have feedback, as v3 depends on it. :wink:My Dub Settings v2.zip
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 Argh... Just when my DivX/Vdub installation heads south! I have to reinstall everything. sigh... at least I have a reason to do it today.
Guest ssj_kakarot Posted March 23, 2003 Report Posted March 23, 2003 er what am a missin here thought ad give the settings a try but when i encoded a few episodes of a show it came out at like 1.2 gig????????????
Guest ssj_kakarot Posted March 23, 2003 Report Posted March 23, 2003 got it sorted now was a problem with the codec :)
Guest ClintEastman Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Make sure that the encoder is set to 120kbps (Mmmmm 120 goodness.....) for the letterbox settings.
Guest hanhha2000 Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 ClintEastman I have been experimenting with your settings for a while and have been not getting any results (screen pixelated). I was completely bemused by this until I opened the player readme files and found out the problem. The reason I was having problems is that PocketMVP is only currently compatible with DivX 5.0.2 codecs. Having codecs older or newer than this will mean that PocketMVP will not be able to read this. Worth pointing out to other users. I have now got the settings working and they are really good thank you for putting them on the forum. Rapier

Rapier This version support is a known issue and has been pointed out several times in PocketMVP/DivX/Video and simlar threads.

Guest jojoe Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Having problems with framerate. When i choose process all frames, this is my best setting - result as attachment: Sound is poor quality as video is recorded with a fuju photo-camera.spvd01.rar
Guest the.dude Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 I have tried to convert an Mpeg file - around 2 mb using ClintEastman's virtual dub settings. I save as a *.AVI file it processes it and produces a file around 30-40 mb. I have loaded the *.VCF settings through > File > Load Settings I also tried changing frame rate to 10 fps and audio compression to 11khz mono. Is there something I'm doing wrong ? Surely it should compress in size or at best stay the same size. Any help appreciated. Especially pointers to any steps that I'm missing. Cheers.
Guest fraser Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 Check that the video compression settings in VirtualDub are "Uncompressed" or any other codec. Also look in there to check the DivX encoding bitrate.
Guest the.dude Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 Cheers Fraser. Just tried that - still getting a file thats 34Mb.
Guest mike-oh Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 Where can i get v5.0.2 of divx? i can only find 5.0.3 on their homepage!
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 Anyone that wants Divx 5.02, go to www.monolithix.org/misc/DivX502Bundle.exe
Guest caio1 Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 Upped the freeware basic with no ads version here: http://www.emmeeffe.net/spv/DivX502Bundle.exe Another thing: instead of using 120kbps, try using 1kbps and set performance/quality to slowest. This force the codec to make an "auto quality". Results are half of space occupied and very very near quality level. Do some tests and let me know. Caio
Guest r3v3rb Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Not sure if anyone is aware of this as I haen't spent all day searching threads but divx5.02 is available as part of the GordianKnot Codec pack, which is available from www.doom9.org...
Guest Edgar_Deniz Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 When I use "My Dub Settings v2" a file on 35 MB is been changed to 235 MB!!! What am I doing wrong??? I need to click on "Save as Avi" don't I????
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Have you checked it selected mp3 for the audio codec?
Guest nickcornaglia Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Does 135MB for a full length movie sound about the right size?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Yep, bit big maybe (90 min film is about 90-100 meg...).
Guest mattscholey Posted October 31, 2003 Report Posted October 31, 2003 I've used this to encode a music video, and fullscreens great, but I get a file size of 20MB for a 3min video. I've done a search, and checked that it's using both the MP3 and DivX codecs, but I still get this huge filesize. What am I doing wrong? Many thanks, Matt
Guest TheCardinal Posted October 31, 2003 Report Posted October 31, 2003 this settings are nice, i tried it and it rocks! :) :( PERFECT!
