Guest Spine Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 Hi all, I just bought a 256mb sandisk SD card the other day. I have been noticing that I cannot fill the card nowhere near to it's capacity (yes i know they have less because they define a MB as 1,000,000 bytes etc) but I was only able to get 140-150mb on a 256mb card. I have been using Activesync v3.7 to copy files to my SPV via the explore function and simple copying and pasting from my pc. The memory card has been formatted several times with Task manager and that did not help. Once I reached about 140mb activesync would give me a nice little error message that it could not copy the file cause there is no more free space. I later discovered the root cause for this bug: I was moving all of my files (mostly mp3s, approx 60 of them) to the root directory of my storage card. For some reason activesync or the spv doesn't like this and will complain that there is no more free space. A simple fix is to just create sub folders to store your stuff in, and then the spv will allow you to fill the card to its specified size but it is still an annoying bug. If anyone else can share some insight to this bug feel free to add. Thanks.
Guest yoos Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 I am having a similar problem I was hoping someone could help me with... I have a Sandisk 256 meg SD with 200 megs free (according to SP Task Manager), but when I try to copy a 41 Meg AVI from my desktop to the SPV it says can't copy because the disk is full??? The card lock is not on and I tried a soft reboot and reinserting the card a few times. Any ideas?
Guest yoos Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Nevermind... I figured out my problem (embarrassed)... I was on my work laptop and didn't have enough hard drive space for the buffer to copy the file, it had nothing to do with the SPV.
