Has anyone tried out this IA 'File Manager Pack' software yet ?

Is it any better than what we already have ?

Yeah, it seems like there's a trial unsigned version that includes the filemanager, space maker and task manager :wink:

These are actually quite good... No wonder these people get paid for doing it...

My quick overview of the utilities..

FILE MANAGER: I like the idea of list/tree view in File Manager. It has ability to Email files, no IR though. Properties function is well done. There is no 'exit' option.

SPACE MAKER: It is kinda IPSM manager. The features are:

- Erase Call History

- Erase Email

- Erase SMS

- Erase SpeedDial

- Erase VoiceNotes

- Erase All

Personally would like to see 'Erase false Alarms' option most of all. I cannot see how this can be usefull since all this can be done for FREE using OS functions. Ok, not all-in-one and takes a bit longer. Again, no exit function.

TASK MANAGER: Only shows running applications. Has pretty good 'System Info' option that is rather detailed, but nothing new there (mem info, flash info, device info, battery). And guess what?? No exit function either.

VERDICT: So far you cannot exit any apps by IA style. What's the deal with TaskManager not able to exit itself then?? I would not mind having this as a little extra. But so far I can do all these tasks using either native OS functions or free software. Task Manager by Jacoch is definitely far superior to the one by IA Style. Indeed, the design/looks are pretty good.

PS: Do not trust me :) Have a look yourself. The trial is for 15 days.

yes you can get free software to get the same functions, that's if you have a decertified phone... 8)

File Manager: ir should be in :!:

and an exit option (who would write software without one :?: )

what i really like is the 'short-cuts' to menu options (pressing d to delete, ...), great idea :mrgreen:

Space Maker: usefull (even sms in here), i like that, but would not pay extra for this one (but as it is in the package...)

and again an exit option is needed :!:

Task Manager: nice one, but again no exit option (IA what are you doing?)

and again shortcuts ;)

would be great to assign this (or any other taskmanager) to the record button. pressing would bring the taskmanager menu or switching between runnings tasks

what i like about these programs is the look and feel

if IA get's things right for the release that could be some helpfull package...

I agree with most of what has been said here, one thing which is excellent about the File Manager app. is the ability to select ALL files, or even better, to tick in a box any files you want to move or copy etc. :)

It's a shame you can't email more than one file at a time (as soon as you select more than one file the option is greyed out) and a send by IR feature would have finished it off nicely.

I also think it's a shame there's not more versatility with the Space Maker app. such as the ability to delete just read messages, or just sent items etc. it seems that it's all or nothing at the mo.

They sound good, but I think I'd wait until they're certified, in case Orange manage to block decertification fully.

They're only 15 day (fully functional) trials at the mo. IA Album aren't selling them until they're certified, so there's no problem there.
