Guest flashfodder Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 When I try to convert, using VitualDub, video footage taken using IA Camera on the SPV, I get the following error message: - VirtualDub cannot decode 4:2:2 Motion JPEG frames with image widths or heightsthat are not multiples of 16. Please install a third-party motion-JPEG codec. Could someone please let me know what this means & what do I need to correct this?
Guest Emad Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Videos taken using IA Camera are quicktime format, not sure that Virtual Dub supports this..
Guest flashfodder Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Just worked it out mate, I use "Lead Technologies" JPEG Codec. I can then use VirtualDub to put it in any format. I think I just answered my own question. Oh well, I guess I should look harder in future before posting things?
Guest Emad Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Does that really work? Cor, what a versatile program virtual dub is :)
Guest flashfodder Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 miss posted methinks! Any format you like... So long as it's AVI? :)
Guest kmon Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Quick Question :?: what is the quailty of the video using SPV/IA Album??FPS??? Is the any other(freeware/shareware  ) software to enable (recording) of moving images??>>> if you have succcesfully converted a file (of your own phone movie  ) could you PM me it or put it up here for us to see-and judge the quality for our selves   that was 3 none quick questions....lol soz..... kmon
Guest yatpeak Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 As far as I know, IA Album is the only program that takes video, and the quality isn't very good at all. Wyatt
Guest flashfodder Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Please note these were done to test the camera & what the qualities like. There are three AVI's in the Zip file: VIDEO_00001.avi VIDEO_00001a.avi VIDEO_00001b.avi 01 is the original straight from the phone. 01a is the file after changing the motion-JPEG codec 01b is a test in Divx 5.02 coding. The quality is poor from the phone to begin with. There doesn't seem to be much difference between 01 & 01a. However, the quality does drop on 01b. On the original, the sound is not bad but the frame rate is far too little. IA camera would be a lot better if they put an option to allow you to save to the SD card. They could then create an option to edit the Frame rate. The video quality could improve 10-fold then cos the size would be limited to the space on the card as oppose the phone.Testing area.zip
Guest kmon Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 cheers matey :) # will take alook later on me thinks.... kmon
Guest kmon Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 sh1t just thought i will not be able to play these without IA album on me phone anywho will I????. LOL2FK as i don't have the player in the first place.....hahaha sometimes i can't see the wood for the trees...... have tried with MVP and WMP no joy..... oh well  kmon
Guest flashfodder Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 All three play on WMP here. Which version you running? I got V9 on my PC. :)
Guest kmon Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Soz i meant the WMP on me phone (as thats the one that will show the true quailty-and not an enhanced P.C version) kmon
Guest flashfodder Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 The original file is WMP compatible on the phone. The final version of the clip will work on PocketMVP. No idea if the middle version will work on either? :)
Guest ajb3000 Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Firstly you can save to SD card from IA Capture (have a look in More Options (I think it's 4)). Secondly the framerate can also be set in the options anywhere from 3 to 20FPS, however due to the interface the camera uses with the SPV, the data transfer speed is very slow, as such the framerate is being hardware limited and won't really go higher then 3FPS

Before this concern, How do i install any codec so that when i copy my avi file to my pc, my media player can play the video also? sa ngayon music lang ang kaya niya i-play.
