Guest Myke Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 This is just for MS or Orange if they ever read this: Most people dont read instruction manuals. Everything should be explained in the phone if only through an "more info" button. When trying to switch to speakerphone profile, instead of simply doing absolutly nothing leaving users confused, you should have a little note appear that says "To switch to the speakerphone profile, hold down the call key while in a call" its as easy as that! The closest thing you guys have to this is when you edit the speakerphone settings at the top it says "The Speakerphone profile is activated when the device is used as a speakerphone." what is that?! haha "duh" GREAT PHONE & GREAT OS!
Guest yatpeak Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Is the call key the green key? Thanks, Wyatt
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Yes, the call key is the green key. YOu need to hold it down for a bit, a brief click won't help.
Guest SirGaz Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 You press the call key a second time (holding it down for a little while rather than a click). Don't know if it switches off when the call ends of whether the next call you receive is automatically on speaker phone.
Guest yatpeak Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Thanks, I hadn't even realized that the speakerphone existed... Wyatt
Guest madu Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 After the call it automatically switches off. So next call would be in normal mode. I agree - tips are a great thing! Even my SonyZ5 had that - lovely feature - all nice and clear and lets everyone enjoy the full potential of phone features. LISTEN TO THIS MS!!
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 MS Operating systems have always provided useless errors. "There has been an error [OK]", is one of my favourites to randomly pop up :) Back on topic, it's not really MS or Oranges problem if you don't read the manual. Admittedly there are some blatant omissions, but you can't really say "create us a second online manual, as we can't be bothered to read the hard copy provided". Whenever i get a new toy i'll ignore the manual and play with the device for a few hours, then read through the manual to see what features i've missed and how to use features i can't work out by playing.... I don't see any problem really, other than the missing parts...
Guest madu Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 First of all: "There has been a RANDOM error [OK]" :) Second: The manual provided is the shittest manual I have ever seen! My shaver has a more indepth manual.... And it's not about online help - it's about little not blatant features that are 'added value' or cannot be accessed in an (fairly)obvious way.. Basically making 'tips' another added value - nice and easy, but certainly better then ...error...[OK] 'tips'/
