Guest vingdc Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 what do you guys do to customize your ringtones? i just got my spv, and i want to use my own mp3's, midi's for my ringtone. i tried uploading the files to "IPSM/Application Data/Sounds" but the midi files dont sound the way they should be. i just hear beeps instead of the song.......
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 SmartPhone can only play "midi0" type midi files or .wav's as ringtones. Google for "midi to wav" or "mp3 to wav" for programs to convert your music to wav format.
Guest dr_viagra Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 I find it slightly annoying that the SPV canot manage mp3 as a ringtone format. Perhaps they will change this in the future with an update? Well I can hope  Does anyone know of any good tutorials for WAV compression? I am a bit wary of using a 1.5mb WAV file fora ringtone.
Guest Richie M Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 dr_viagra; the easiest way to compress down a wav is to open it in Windows Sound Recorder and save it as a 8bit 8000Mhz Mono wav
