Guest timlegrand Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 hmmm, just plugged in my headset, but after taking it out, the phone has refused to realise that the headset ain't there any more, so i can't make calls normally! i've done the resets but to no avail! any ideas anyone?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 A well know hardware fault with the SPV unfortunately. Two methods others have used to try and resolve it are: 1: Blow hard into the socket, this can sometimes release the catch. 2: ~Gently~ "wiggle" the headset jack in the socket. If neither of these work you may have to get a replacement handset.
Guest timlegrand Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 ha ha! it works again! ta for the tip monolithix :)
Guest superkingdave Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 has anyone found a permanent solution to this problem? i first had it before the update but then it disappeared once updated only to reappear after an unfortunate system crash. blowing in it works in a fashion but it always reverts back to headset after a couple of minutes.
Guest Brody Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 I think the developer phone has a rubber plug to fill the socket, this would be a good idea!! :)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 It does. (and a whole pile of other things the SPV doesn't :))
Guest Brody Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Rubbing it in again!!! How u getting on with it, u've been using it this week yeah? U gonna start a new topic on how u've got on with it?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 If you like, or just post a quick followup to my original. It's good, shame about the size and screen though :)
