Guest MECX Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 very nice---how do you speak to people--hands free kit? oh it does have bluetooth --very swish :)
Guest Richie M Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 The phone, which weighs under 80 grams including battery and measures just 37.8 x 64 x 17.7 mm. The phone supports WAP 1.2, Bluetooth and Speakerphone technologies. That is friggin massive (for a Watch) has anyone got a wrist that big:?:
Guest benjymous Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 very nice---how do you speak to people--hands free kit? I'm guessing if they position the speaker and mic properly, you'd just hold your arm up to your ear as if you were holding a normal phone You'd look an utter twit tho, talking away to your arm
Guest youngerpants Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 if you believe those battery expectations, you need your head seeing to! as for communicating with it, I imagine a hands free kit (ironic... kinda) if not, I remember talk a few years ago about using vibrations through your hand for a wrist phone, essentially you stick you finger in your ear to hear, and there would be a mic on the strap of the watch. If they have realised this technology, I will be VERY impressed
Guest Richie M Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 If you look at my quote above it does say "Speakerphone" so i guess you just talk into it as though you were looking at the time on a normal watch (in theory)
Guest yatpeak Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Cool, this is the first mention I've heard of it since it was in the Guinness Book of Records 2001. Wyatt

Guest benjymous Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Has everyone forgotten Knight Rider ??? :) Sometimes the memory resurfaces and I'll scream for hours
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 I don't understand what the point of wearing it on your wrist is? Rather than on your belt, for example? If you're going to use a headset anyway??? And Knight Rider was a gleam in his father's eye when Dick Tracy was using a watch-phone... with Video!
Guest benjymous Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 I don't understand what the point of wearing it on your wrist is? Rather than on your belt, for example? If you're going to use a headset anyway??? How would you see the screen if it was on your belt?
Guest Richie M Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 It wouldn't fit on anyones wrist anyway, it's about the same size as the SPV Battery but twice as thick
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 How would you see the screen if it was on your belt? It's difficult to do more than glance at your wrist... particularly with that monster on it! :) Granted, looking at a screen has its finer moments... Altho I want a fully voice-enabled interface myself. Still, why can't we have bluetooth screens? THAT might fit much better on a watch than the whole kit&kiboodle, neh?
