Guest kidster Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Hi I have been speaking to Orange over the last few days about an upgrade to an SPV, but I keep getting conflicting info about their promotions. They told me it was free, so I went into one of their shops to check the phone out - very smart! - then phoned back the next day to order it but was then told that the promotion had ended 5 days earlier! Does anyone know when the next promotion will be, or should I just shell out £30 now? Cheers Kidster :)
Guest Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 £30 is a very good price for the SPV, although there are rumours that the SPVs replacement (SPVx, Tanager, SPV E100, whatever!) will be out soon. The new one is pretty much the same as the exsiting SPV, with a few subtle improvements here and there (a better screen and keypad I think). Orange might do another promotion to clear more stocks of the SPV before launching its sequel, or you might be better off waiting to find out how much the new one will cost (although it's likely to be far more than £30). Unless someone with inside info on future promotions says otherwise I would recomend shelling out £30 now, unless you can afford (time and money wise) to wait for the updated SPV. P.S. - Welcome to MoDaCo by the way! 8)
Guest kidster Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Thanks for the advice Matt - I think that I will take the plunge! My main decision to go for the SPV has been the quality of comments and advice in the forum - so keep up the good work everyone!
Guest the loc-man Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 whoa there a minute Kidster, I've just got a SPV on Sat gone and it cost me nowt! free SPV all the kit, connected on a 120+120 tariff. Orange shop wouldn't match it, they were £30 with lowest connection to 200 + 200. It was at the link, rather have bought from orange but hey.. hope this help LOC
Guest benwatt Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 I was lucky enough to get mine for free the day after the promotion ended at the Orange shop thanks to some slow price card changing, but £30 is still a great deal on it.
Guest vman Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 The Link are selling the spv(original) for 199.99 on payasyougo. Should check it out
