MS Smartphone comes to Germany (EU) - more details

T-Mobile wants to start selling new MS Smartphone based phone in Germany just before Christmas 2003 - in the one of the hottest shopping seasons in Germany. In total T-Mobile intends to sell 200 000 to 300 000 units of this phone in Germany in the first year of sales.

Another interesting information is that Microsoft wants to achieve in 2004 a global market share in of 1.5 % what translates into "two digit number" expressed in millions.

As far as information regarding which model exactly will be introduced in Germany is concerned, Microsoft's manager from Germany, Michael Müller-Berg, could not tell: he just said that it will be much different, than Orange SPV model. There is NO INFORMATION AT ALL whether it will be Tanager made by HTC or for example reference design from Intel. Any guessing at this point in time is pointless - because it is not known yet what model it will be....
